Fowler linked with MLS move

Robbie Fowler has been linked with a move to America and the MLS (Major League Soccer). The legendary forward is out of contract at the end of the season and Rafa Benitez isnt expected to offer him a new deal.

The 33 year old nicknamed God is said to be contemplating retiring but feels he can do a job in the American league for a good two years, the length of time clubs are said to have offered him, according to an article in the Daily Mail.

As ever, all the latest transfer speculation is in the rumour mill.

Other rumours and reports recently include Luis Garcia to Athletico Madrid, Stephen Warnock to Blackburn, Crouch to Newcastle and Roberto Ayala from Valencia. And there’s bound to be plenty more this weekend, particularly in the Sunday papers. With the transfer window closing in just under two weeks, Benitez is still looking to strengthen with a full back and a defensive midfielder.

Meanwhile, Darren Potter’s move to Wolves has been confirmed by both clubs and the midfielder said:

“It seems to have taken an age but now the deal is done I’m absolutely made up!

“I’ve loved the place ever since I got here. The boys are a great bunch, the gaffer and the coaching staff top class, and the fans have been brilliant.

“People may ask why I’ve left a Premiership club like Liverpool and dropped down to the Championship, but that’s because I see Wolves as a top flight club and I’ll be doing everything in my power to help them get there.”
