Rafa struggles to find positives

Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez admitted there were few positives to find in Liverpool’s FA Cup victory at home to non-league Havant and Waterlooville on Saturday.

The part-timers caused a scare when they took the lead twice during the first half of the game, only for Liverpool to come back thanks to goals from Lucas, Yossi Benayoun (3) and Peter Crouch and take the game 5-2 to secure a place in the FA Cup fifth round.

The Spanish manager said after the game, “It’s good for Yossi and for us. I think he was really good in front of goal. If you want to find positives there are not many, but the result was really good for some players ‘“ especially for Yossi but also for Crouch, getting a goal.

“In football, when you think you must win, you don’t have anything to win. The anxiety this causes means sometimes the players make more mistakes.”

The Reds now travel to West Ham for a Wednesday night Premier League clash at Upton Park, having not won in the league in 2008.
