Door 15: McManaman stuns Celtic

Behind today’s door is a cracking goal from former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman in the 1997/98 UEFA Cup campaign. With the Reds trailing 2-1 away at Celtic in the first leg of the tie, Macca ran the full length of the pitch, skipping past Celtic defenders and finishing with a well placed shot from the edge of the area to steal a draw for Roy Evans’ men.

Incidentally, today is also the anniversary of McManaman’s debut for the club, given to him by Kenny Dalglish in 1990 against Sheffield United.
