As the January transfer window draws ever closer, the press are starting to have field days with Liverpool transfer speculation. Here, we round up the murmurings going on around Anfield today’¦

  • Juande Ramos and Arsene Wenger will enter a bidding war to take Liverpool’s Spanish midfield maestro Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid or Arsenal respectively. (Sport.co.uk)
  • Rafa Benitez is interested in signing Hull City’s Michael Turner as a replacement for Sami Hyypia, but may wait until the end of the season to make his move. (The People)
