Remembrance

Twenty years ago today, 96 Liverpool supporters travelled to Sheffield for an FA Cup semi-final and never returned. Innocent lives were lost in the worst sporting disaster Britain has ever seen. The events of that day left an everlasting impression on Liverpool Football Club, symbolised by the fact the club crest will forever remember those fans with the eternal flame added to it.

May they rest in peace and never be forgotten.

    One thing that moved me about the rememberance was a fully clad Everton family belting out ‘You’ll never Walk Alone’. That made me want to say that I will be there walking beside those who were affected by this tragedy.

    As a Norwich city Fan at the other fa cup semi final on that sad day I can always remember thinking that even though we lost the game to Everton the loss meant nothing as I heard of what was happening at hillsbourough and as true football fans around the uk and around the world unite with liverpool and all the families of those that lost loved ones may you feel the real care that true football fans have for each other “YOU WILL NEVER WALK ALONE@
