The 1st of July sees the start of the summer transfer window and will no doubt signal further speculation surrounding arrivals and departures at Anfield.

Thus far Rafa Benitez has added right back Glen Johnson to his first-team squad, and much attention is on who may leave Liverpool instead.

One newly confirmed departure is that of Argentine winger Sebastien Leto. His £3m move to Panathanaikos has been completed. Yesterday midfielder Paul Anderson’s move to Nottingham Forest was also completed, for £250,000.

Leto and Anderson are joined by another winger leaving the club, Jermaine Pennant is officially out of contract today.

The three wingers are joined by Sami Hyypia, who has joined Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer, and fellow centre back Jack Hobbs who made his loan move to Leicester City permanent at the end of the season.
