New Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has been given the number 4 shirt, it was confirmed today.
The Italian international midfielder will take the shirt vacated by Sami Hyypia, who left Anfield after 10 years of service to join Bayer Leverkusen this summer.
Other former Reds who have donned the number 4 include Jason McAteer, Steve Nicol and um… Rigobert Song.
Aquilani in action for his former club, Roma.
Aquilani is currently sidelined with an ankle injury and is expected to make his debut for the Reds at the end of September.
