Agger returns to action

Daniel Agger will make his long awaited return to action for Liverpool Reserves on Tuesday night, it has been confirmed.

The Danish centre-back missed the start of the season with a back injury, for which he later received important surgery and has since been recovering.

Recently Rafa Benitez confirmed Agger was close to returning for the first team and tomorrow night he will take the next step forward as the Reserves take on Manchester City Reserves.

“It is fantastic to see Daniel back and it’s a great boost for everyone at the club,” Reserves boss John McMahon told the club’s official web site.

“It’s always great to see quality players come back from injury and this will be a perfect game for him to make his comeback.

“It’s a fantastic stadium with a great pitch and it is always a fantastic boost for the young lads when they have a top professional like Daniel playing alongside them.

“The young lads look up to him and they can learn from him as well.”

The club’s official web site also expects Philipp Degen and David Ngog to feature in the game, whilst the first team are in Florence for their Champions League encounter with Fiorentina.
