Very well put sir, excellent infact.I think along with the vast majority of LFC fans,we are sick and tired of our club and i emphazise OUR club being dragged through the mud by 2 Americans. What has happened to the days when you only saw us in papers for our football.Since these 2 have come on the scence, all our dirty linen is washed in public. As for the mathematics of these 2 people no wonder our finances are a mess,or do they think basic maths cant be done in Liverpool. Please please get rid of these 2,and get OUR great club back where it belongs ON TOP.

Daniel, why do contract upgrades have to be factored into a TRANSFER BUDGET? You are buying the spin from Hicks and Gillett.

To be fair though, you haven't factored in contract upgrades for Torres, Benayoun, Gerrard, Kuyt, Agger etc; and Johnson's huge deal. Those alone could've swallowed up that £20 million budget.

Jonski, bit of confusion here. I'm not mentioning wages in terms of the budget, what Rafa has spent etc

I mention that Liverpool spend much less on wages than their top four rivals because this will obviously then influence the quality of player Rafa can attract.

Torres and Gerrard are in the top ten wage-earners in the league. At Chelsea there's five, six, seven, maybe more players on that kind of money.

If Benitez was given the same kind of backing there would be an improvement in the quality of signings.

Gillett specifically mentioned the money for transfers, the wage bill is separate than that so does not need to be taken into account. Anyway if you look at a lot of the players that have left they would have been on major wages whereas quite a few of the players that have come in are younger and on less of a wage. So the points regarding wages don't quite add up.

Craig, your list showing ins and outs doesn't back up your point as far as I'm concerned. This is Rafa's spending over FIVE YEARS. Compare this to Jose Mourinho who walked into a club that was already in the top four and he was handed over £100m to spend IN ONE GO.

You can also add to that the fact that Chelsea, Man Utd and Arsenal all pay bigger wages than Liverpool - so that makes attracting the bigger players more difficult for Rafa - therefore he has to gamble on players that may (or may not) cut it in the Premier League.

Rafa has to wheel and deal, sell to buy, balance the books - he can't just keep a load of highly-paid stars on the pay roll, hence why the squad looks thin right now.

Your point also ignores that Chelsea and Man Utd have been consistently spending from a position of strength. So they are winning the league or finishing as runners up and then going out and smashing transfer records for players. Rafa hasn't been given this privilege and seems to have been told to lower his sights on transfer targets on several occasions.

Forget the owners for a second and lets look at how much Rafa has spent on players in the last 5 years...Rafael Benítez has bought 54 players for £228,066,000. Chelsea spent less than that buliding probabaly one of the best squads in Europe. Rafa dealings in the transfer market are nothing more than shocking to say the least. People keep asking were the money is for Villa and Silva, probabaly somewere in £228,066,000 wasted on players no were good enough for the prem. Yep our owners are a disgrace and need to go with there broken promises, lies and bringing our good name down, but Rafa has to take the blame for the state our squad is in. Im now gonna list all Rafas transfer dealings since he joined for you to make your own minds up... My comclusion, the owners of a bunch of T**ts but Rafa has wasted over £100,000,000 on players who would never make it in the prem, THATS WERE YE VILLA AND SILVA CASH IS!!!
