Benayoun to Man City rumours denied

Yossi Benayoun has moved quickly to deny speculation linking the Liverpool winger with a January transfer window move to Manchester City.

Reports this weekend have suggested that City will put in an offer to tempt the Israeli international to Eastands soon.

But Ronen Kastav, Benayoun’s agent, says it is only inevitable for a player in the form Benayoun is enjoying to be linked with other clubs.

“Naturally a player playing well at Liverpool will always have other teams interested in him,” he told an Israeli newspaper.

“It is a great compliment that there is interest from high level teams across Europe but Yossi is very happy at Liverpool and only in the summer agreed a new four-year contract for four more seasons.”

Benayoun has been in impressive form this season and scored a hat-trick against Burnley last month.
