Liverpool will be without both Glen Johnson and Steven Gerrard for Saturday’s Premier League trip to Fulham, it has been confirmed.

Gerrard is still struggling with the groin injury picked up on international duty for England two weeks ago whilst Johnson has picked up a calf injury following Liverpool’s 2-0 victory over Manchester Utd last Sunday.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez confirmed, “Gerrard still has a problem with his groin so he won’t be available this weekend.

“At this moment he’s working with the physios. He has to keep working and we’ll decide next week how he progresses.

“Johnson has a small tear in his calf, so we will lose him for maybe one week.”

Benitez is also without Martin Kelly and Albert Riera for tomorrow’s Premier League clash. However, Javier Mascherano returns after serving his one-match suspension for two yellow cards against Man Utd.
