Totally agree! While Chelsea and Man U spend big each season on one or two players Rafa is forced to use similar funds on several positions. Even if he wanted to spend it all on one player we probably would be unable to match the offers some of our competitors would be putting in…

This is a bit silly, “he made alonso leave” He made a decision based on the fact that alonso had a sub-par year and he wanted to bring in barry to improve the team. Barry could not be bought at the villa’s ridiculous asking price without selling first. In any case, don’t forget who brought alonso in in the first place. If Alonso had the same loyalty Rafa seems to have, this would be a moot point.

The following names are transfer targets which LFC have missed: Simao, Alves, Milito, Vidic, Barry, Villa and Silva. Instead, we missed out on these targets because our top brass moved slowly and, in some cases, did not want to spend the extra 1-2 million pounds. Clearly, NOW it’s costing us dearly when we have given Rafa an IKEA budget since his arrival and fans have the audacity to criticize his signings and call his Champions League and FA cup wins lucky!
I can tell one thing to those fans: Rafa will have no problems finding a job with Real Madrid, Juventus, AC Milan, Man City….

i agree with you man! Liverpool is not a bus parking for failed spanish players what does he want to achieve with REIRA- who failed at Man city loan. my opinion is that RAFA is not the type of Manager liverpool need now. we need a vibrant coach. a coach without excusses.Rafa GIVES DIFFERENT EXCUSES AT ALL TIME WHEN HE FAILS.
I THINK HE IS USING THE PRESS AS A SMOKE SCREEN TO DECIEVE US.

Mr Tetteh Otuteye, please who paid you to design this article.you obviosly spoke like who was paid to do a good job for his master.

but you fail to know that RAFA`s problem is not all about buying players or consolidating his team but lack of techinical competence. His old ideas are fast deminishing in morden football than his hairlines.2007/08 he bought about 11 players non except Toress and bounayoun came with character and quality. or is ist the owners wahala that he bought non performing players.
how many times have you analysed RAFA match selections and replacements. you will only see an unfocussed coach. he has an agenda. he wants to `kill` the club.liverpool draw at JJB Stadium las year cost us the premiership.when he was leading 0:1 he removed Gerrad for Lucas. Toress for Ngo`g. RAFA KNOWS HE HAS 4 MORE YEARS OF SECURED CONTRACTS THAT`S WHY HE MAKE MISTAKES, he also knows that we can not afford to settle him if he is sacked.

Superb article. But one word of caution. Don’t forget that Dubai is about to go bankrupt – and that would have affected DIC – our supposed saviours.

Similarly, Chavski, fired a very decent manager on the whim of its billionaire owner.

The current financial constraints have a silver lining in that the owners are beholden to the supportes in a way that Abramovich isn’t.

The Yanks seem to be more financially astute than Moores was. And Purslow is trying to undo the damage of a decade of Rick Parry and catch up financially with Manure.

Context is everything.
