Defender signs new Reds contract

Liverpool’s 18-year-old Spanish defender Daniel Ayala has signed a new deal with the club to keep him at Anfield until at least 2012.

The youngster made his first appearance for the first team on the opening day of the season in Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.

Due to and injury to Martin Skrtel, Ayala made two more appearances for the Reds before settling back into John McMahon’s Reserves team.

Signed in 2007 from La Liga side Sevilla, Ayala has been one of the men to watch for the Liverpool Reserves this season.

    Nice to see him get a new deal though. He has been impressive. Hope he continues progressing well.

    we have numbers of good defender…i mean a young defender?…why would rafa signed kirogiokis(what ever the spell is) at the summer?…he’s add nothing to the team…young lads is much better…another foolish sign in by rafa…sack rafa!…i’m very impress with Martin Kelly when he play againts (i forgot what the team is)recently…YNWA and SACK Rafa Benitez!
