Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has thanked fans for their patience in the club’s recent run of bad form, even quoting from “You’ll Never Walk Alone” in his pre-match press conference.

Ahead of tonight’s Champions League clash with Lyon in France, Benitez told press that he and the players have been working hard to turn things around after a sixth defeat in seven games at the weekend against Fulham.

The Reds’ bad form has been met by much criticism from the media and some supporters. However Benitez acknowledged the supporters who are following the Liverpool way and showing their support.

He said, “Our fans are very clever. Sometimes you have bad moments, but they know we are working very hard to try and change things.

“We will try to win and we know that when you walk through a storm, hold your head up high – and we will try to hold our heads up high.”

Lyon vs Liverpool gets underway at 7.45pm. Stay tuned to This Is Anfield throughout the day for team news and previews.

We continue to critic and support the club bcoz we all love the club. LFC is more than a FC for us. So guys, let pray and throw all our support to the team tonight. Rafa, lets do it again, once is never enough. We are Liverpool, we are champion.

Thanks for the link NITIN, it gauls me when so called journalists don’t check their own facts and just resort to copy and paste techniques. It made me think he had an agenda in place to back those gobsh**es GILLET and HICKS. Am I right in thinking ESPN are american backed?
Knowledgeable fans know the real reasons the club is in the state it is right now.

Thanks all for doing your bit..

I dont think there s any larger American conspiracy, its simply down to the fact that ‘journalists’ will always go for an easy target like Benitez is for the moment. And not bothering to know the background to all the woes. No one s absolving Rafa of not making any mistakes, but I d like to see any one else doing a better job with the money and time and control(over the academy) he s had.

    that bloke was a mug
Honestly, saying wed regret selling Keane
He was rubbish and had many chances.
As soon as we bought the yid i knew it was a waste, but what can you do
also saying that hes scored 7 and hes fantastic. He scored 4 poo goals at wigan and one was a pen and of the other 3, 2 were pens. If we wanted a pen taker im sure we could use some of the current squad

I would like it if Rafa starts to accept the fact he has done many mistakes from the beginning! and I would realy love if some fans try to tell the man when he commit faults.we have seen him crash capelo and ferguson and we still believe in him but it’s not a sin to say he has done a mistake his not perfect after all u should know
