Torres on the mend

Rafa Benitez is hopeful Liverpool striker Fernando Torres will be running again by the end of the week and hopes to have the Spanish international back to his best by the end of November.

Torres pulled out of Monday night’s Premier League fixture against Birmingham City with a reoccurrence of his troublesome hernia which has plagued him since last month’s international break.

Benitez told press this morning that Torres’ condition is being monitored closely and he will undergo a three week treatment plan now that another international break is upon is.

He said, “With Fernando Torres we are talking about two or three weeks of treatment and working with the physios. I was talking with him this morning and he is doing well. Hopefully he can be running in a few days and we will see how he progresses.”

    Glad Nando is on the mend and hope to hear more of the same regarding Stevie G, Yossi & Riera et al. The fans and the players have to stay true to Rafa and support him – we have had so many injuries this season. I still think he is the best manager and the one to build the premier & champions winning league team. It would be good to maintain the sides stability with our key players staying together rather than leaving to look for glory elsewhere….sorry Xabi.

    awful that means he will not be available against man-money, we trust rafa.i hope S.G will lead as usual. we need to get back our way of winning and scoring more goals as we did many times..

    yes torres is a very good striker, but why rafa is just hang on to him?…ngog should be given more chances to show his talent…in liverpool we believe, but i’m not believe in rafa anymore…he should be replace by someone else…maybe ‘special one’?
