The festive fixtures begin with the early kick-off against Portsmouth on Saturday (12:45, Sky Sports) and Liverpool fans will be pleased to find that all the Reds’ Christmas fixtures are live on telly.

After Portsmouth it’s Wolves at home on Boxing Day (5:30pm, ESPN), followed by Aston Villa away on the 29th (7:45pm, Sky Sports).

2010 kicks off with Reading away in the FA Cup (5:15pm, ITV1) on January 2nd.

Our first League game of the year is the home match with Tottenham (4pm, Sky Sports) on the 10th, with Stoke away another early kick-off (12:45pm, Sky Sports) on the 16th.

Liverpool’s next Saturday, 3pm kick-off isn’t until the end of January against Bolton, and after that once the Europa League begins they’ll be even more uncommon with Sunday kick-offs becoming the norm.
