It may not have been the right result on the pitch for Liverpool today, but off the pitch it was a success for the Liverpool Supporters Union, Spirit of Shankly.

A peaceful protest took place prior to kick off, aimed at denying joint owners Tom Hicks and George Gillett access to Anfield. The protest was a success with 8 empty seats in the director’s box during the game and police turning Hicks and Gillett away on health and safety grounds.

SOS posted a short update on their Facebook page tonight saying the protest worked. Full details will be made available on Monday.

Tom and George were on one of their few all-expenses paid trips to Anfield, with it being against a big four club of course. Don’t hold your breathe seeing them against Wigan on Wednesday.

It appears there were some arrests, although one in particular seems to have been a blatant targeting of an SOS leader.

Well in SOS, the message is clear Tom and George, You’re Not Welcome.

    so for a second time

SoS should deny benitez access to Anfield and do the club a huge favour

We are fragile at the moment, that is why a shift of formation or tactics would be nice. Now is the time to try something new. Why not try a 4-4-2 with Torres and Benayoun up top, with riera on the left, gerrard and acquilani in the middle, and kuyt on the right, aurelio, carra, agger, and johnson tomorrow agains wigan. This would show an attacking team hungry for goals, and in my opinion despite the acquilani because we really don’t know yet, our most solid 11. I get taht we can’t get rid of rafa, and I support the team but I also want to see him make some shifts in his tactics. 1 up top with stevie in the hole is failing because our two holding midfielders are not providing the service we need. I doubt this will happen, and tomorrow we will see, torres up top alone with stevie in the hole, riera and kuyt on the wings, and masch and lucas in the middle. Hopefully this works because it probably is what rafa is going to play, but I see a draw (Which I hope not to see) if rafa does the same ole.

rick my friend as you mentioned players are man not robbots so what about P.Degan is he a robbot?!!I don’t think so.I think he is going tobe sold so he needs to show himself.
Arsenal were controling the game.If Rafa change Glen Jonson for a striker our lose became clear than ever.
But I do belive G.J is one of the best right backs in the world.
What’s your idea about Daneil Pacheco? He was just 18 tht maked that mistake against Fiorentina.
    You’ll never walk alone!!!!!
