Roy Hodgson has been officially confirmed as the new manager of Liverpool FC, signing a three year deal at Anfield.
The 62 year old Englishman succeeds Rafa Benitez on Merseyside, who left the club last month after 6 years in charge.
The former Fulham boss was appointed in time to welcome those players not involved in World Cup action back to pre-season training at Melwood on Thursday morning, and will be officially unveiled to the media and hold a press conference at Anfield this afternoon.
Hodgson, who won the LMA Manager of the Year last season, told the official LFC website “This is the biggest job in club football and I’m honoured to be taking on the role of manager of Britain’s most successful football club. I look forward to meeting the players and the supporters and getting down to work at Melwood.”
