Morning all and welcome to Monday. Here’s your round-up of the latest transfer shenanigans that will excite, frustrate and irritate you (probably more the latter).

But first thing’s first, This Is Anfield would like to express our deepest sympathies to the families and friends of the 19 people who were killed in a stampede at a German music festival over the weekend. Rest in peace, and let’s hope justice prevails.

As for Liverpool, well the big news this morning is that Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini definitely has his eye on Fernando Torres.

Over the weekend, Reds boss Roy Hodgson admitted that Torres has a problem yet to be sorted out with Liverpool and City will now step up their chase for the Spanish striker.

“Torres is one of the best strikers in Europe and is already playing in the Premier League for three years and knows it very well,” said Mancini.

“But it depends on his situation – his price and whether he wants to come.”

Liverpool are expected to ask for at least £70million, should Torres wish to leave Anfield.

Yesterday, Liverpool’s club ambassador, former manager and goalscoring legend Kenny Dalglish said he was hopeful Torres would stay on Merseyside.

“When Torres sees that [Cole signing] and talks with Roy I am sure he will give us good news,” he told BBC Radio 5 Live.

“I hope Torres stays. Only Fernando knows what is going to do.

“Unfortunately for him he is injured, but he is a fantastic player and is very happy around the club and the city.

Should Torres move to Man City, it would be a curious decision, with the Eastlands club also unable to offer him Champions League football this season.

Meanwhile, David Ngog is insistent that he wants to remain at Anfield and fight for a first team place.

The French striker is reportedly putting off potential clubs coming in for him by demanding a £2million salary. Ngog has told press several times this summer that he does not wish to leave the club.

And Nice chairman Gilbert Stellardo has confirmed that Liverpool have not put a bid in for French striker Loic Remy, hinting that the 23-year-old is set to leave to West Ham.

West Ham? Remy is definitely interested,” he told lequipe.fr. “Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal? I have heard about their interest but I have had no contact.

“The only clubs I have talked to are West Ham and Fenerbahce.”

There’s more transfer rumours, gossip and discussion over in the Rumour Mill.

If Torres does leave, you only have G&H and Purslow to blame. Nando will/would stay if he sees that Liverppol are serious about the future i.e. investing in quality players & improving the squad. But where is the transfer kitty? Paying off G&H’s loans. We could have used the 9 mill used to pay off Rafa & recruit Roy, as well.
But the question remains: Why would Nando want to play for Citeh? I can’t see him leaving a club like Liverpool for them, despite their spending.

Insistant? You mean ‘insistent, right? “…the 23-year-old is set to leave to West Ham“. You sure? Shouldn’t it be “…is set to leave for West Ham?” Rather pathetic, wouldn’t you agree?

Enough of this, they just wont shut up. Torres is going here , Torres is going there, it never ends with these people, i wouldnt be surprised if he does leave, and if he does leave and we get money, we lose, because that money will go to the owners to pay debt. Torres if you read this, STAY, PLEASE. This club loves you and wants to see you grow, with Roy i know we can do better than last season at least, but nothing will happen unless you stay mate. I say SOD OFF Mancini and Ancelotti, who cares what they say? You are a liverpool player, born to wear a liverpool jersey. Staying will be the best decision you have made.

If torres jumps ship i’ll be well pi**ed off, the lads class but very injury prone. A fit torres playing all season, who knows what we can achieve. Stevie’s committed and we’ve signed cole so come on Nando give Roy a chance!!!!!
