Macia and 5 other scouts leave LFC

Liverpool have parted company with 6 scouts, including former chief scout Eduardo Macia. Spaniard Macia left the club by mutual consent last week.

New director of football strategy Damien Comolli (pictured) has made the decision to terminate the contracts of five other scouts, most of whom were appointed under Rafa Benitez.

One of the scouts leaving is Jakob Friis-Hansen, the father of reserve keeper Martin Hansen. He told Danish press:

“Virtually everyone who has been employed under Benitez, has now finished at the club. This is also a couple of Spanish coaches. It is very natural that it happens when a new manager or sporting director to a club. We did never actually meet Comolli, but he has some other ideas, and it is basically fair enough. I’ve got a nice severance scheme and am free to start a new job.”
