LFC v Stoke: Suarez on the bench

New Liverpool number 7 Luis Suarez is on the bench for tonight’s match against Stoke City at Anfield (8pm kick off).

Suarez, signed from Ajax for £23m on deadline day, could make his debut in what will be his first competitive fixture since the start of December after a domestic ban in Holland.

Meanwhile, fellow new signing Andy Carroll will be introduced to the fans prior to kick-off. He’s struggling with a thigh injury and is a couple of weeks away from match fitness.

Manager Kenny Dalglish has named an interesting line-up featuring 6 defenders. Liverpool are expected to set-up as 3-5-2 with Fabio Aurelio in centre midfield.

Dirk Kuyt leads the attack, while Jamie Carragher is back after dislocating his shoulder against Tottenham at the end of November and is on the bench.

Liverpool: Reina, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Agger, Kelly, Johnson, Lucas, Meireles, Aurelio, Gerrard, Kuyt.
Subs: Gulacsi, Carragher, Poulsen, Shelvey, Suarez, Maxi, Ngog.

Stoke City: Begovic; Higginbotham, Huth, Wilson, Wilkinson; Pennant, Diao, Whitehead, Faye; Walters, Carew.
