Suarez/Carroll partnership excites Aurelio

Fabio Aurelio says he is looking forward to when new Liverpool striker Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll play together for the first time.

The Reds spent a total of £58million on the pair from Ajax and Newcastle Utd in the January transfer window, but Carroll isn’t expected to make his debut for the club until mid-March – currently sidelined with a thigh injury.

Aurelio, who has enjoyed a good run in the first team of late, says it will be a great striker partnership and Premier League defenders will be scared.

Speaking after Suarez’s first start for the club in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Wigan at Anfield on Saturday, Aurelio said, “Luis made his first full start for Liverpool and he had a great game.

“He looked very sharp and dangerous up front. For us, he’ll be very important to have this type of player.
“People are looking forward to seeing Andy Carroll and Luis up front.

“Andy is good on the ball as well, he will be good to keep hold of the ball when we want to get closer to the opponents’ goal.

“He will form a very important partnership with Suarez, they are different players and I’m sure they will match together very well.”
