Line-up vs Valencia: Trio make Anfield bows

Liverpool’s summer signings Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson all start in midfield today for the Reds’ final pre-season friendly against Valencia at Anfield.

Brazilian left-back Fabio Aurelio returns to the side from injury, just one week before the start of the new Premier League season.

There’s two goalkeepers on the bench in Brad Jones and Alexander Doni, with Pepe Reina startin in goal.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Carragher, Agger, Aurelio, Adam, Henderson, Spearing, Aquilani, Downing, Carroll.

Subs: Jones, Doni, Cole, Maxi, Kyrgiakos, Kuyt, Lucas, Ngog, Kelly, Flanagan, Robinson.

Liverpool vs Valencia gets underway at 5.30pm.

    Much better game tonight and no goals conceeded great. I was impressed with our new signings and each and every player done a good job. Stewart Downing looks exceptional he`s going to play a major role this forthcoming season. Im pleased to see Aurelio back if he could keep fit this season ( injury free ) we will have as strong a left side as we have a right thats if enrique finally signs?. So it could be a fantastic season for lfc still Suarez, Skrtel and Gerrard Coming back maybe a good centre back? we need not fear any team this season but im sure theres plenty fearing us. Come on you reds.!!!!!!!!!
