Big players want to join “the project” Liverpool

Liverpool will be able to take advantage of their Carling Cup win by signing the best players around Europe, according to the club’s director of football, Damien Comolli.

Comolli told Sky Sports after Sunday’s victory over Cardiff at Wembley that there is already movement towards signing some big players, who believe in “the project” – that Liverpool are on the verge of returning to greatness.

“We already know that there are big players who want to join us next summer because they believe in the project,” he said.

“Everybody in Europe knows what Liverpool football club are trying to do.

“Obviously the fact that we’re back playing in Europe and we’ve won the trophy, it’s all positive things.

“There’s a very positive vibe around the club around Europe. A lot players I know are very interested about joining the project because it’s a very interesting project.”

    I reckon the so-called “big” players are as big and clumsy… oops… I mean as big and good as the donkey (Carroll) and the mules (Henderson & Downing).

    I agree wit CB get rid of Henderson he’s muck,Kuyt is a world class player and his heart is with Liverpool he should be starting every game,he proved he makes a difference on Sunday. As for Carroll he has had his chance time and time again Get Rid Of Him…!!! Id have Maxi on instead give him as many chances as we have given Carroll and see how he gets on.Still on the fence about Downing he has pace but needs to work harder.Bring on the big guns a few international players to bring a bit of class to Liverpool we have a great team as it is but we need a few more goal scores and players with good vision

    You guys are blind or have no footballing sense!! The 3 guys u pick on.
    Hendo: world class first touch and first passer of the ball, I mean incredible and he is ridiculously young and playing with gerrard will hone his game to excellence.
    Carroll: the abuse this guy gets and he is after putting in 4 man of the match displays from his last 6, also stepped up to the plate after Suarez banning. He is forced to be isolated most of the time he plays, until he has a partner up front, he does everything up front again you guys have to be blind he last 6 games show the new game andy has adjusted too and again is ridiculously young.
    Downing: lost touch, maybe bottled it a bit now playing for lfc… His first 3-4 games he was electric and his last 2 he was our best attacking player by far! He shud only play when Andy Carroll plays, simple as.
    So catch a grip guys next time you want to talk bs have so figures and stats to back it up with. If your true lfc fans you will take the positives from everything and support your young players ffs. YNWA.

Carroll just stands there he doesn’t act like a striker should do, for example in the final the ball got across the 6 yard box and there wasn’t a soul there, Carroll had give up on the chance and was just stood still on edge of box he has no vision. He a bloody striker for god sake gamble get yourself in position just incase the ball does drop to score not pass it then stand still. No anticipation what so ever. A few games he has passed and made runs look what happened he scores. He can’t just stand in the box and wait for the long ball because he hasnt prooved his so called ‘excellent’ heading skills and defenders know how to play against him because all he does is wait for the long ball.
