A team of Liverpool fans successfully completed their charity run of 76 miles from Hillsborough in Sheffield to Anfield this morning.

The team have raised over £9,000 for the Hillsborough Justice Campaign and Hillsborough Family Support Group. An incredible achievement.

Running home into Liverpool in the sunshine on the day that Liverpool and Everton meet at Wembley Stadium in the FA Cup Semi-Final, the team finished by running though the Shankly Gates on Anfield Road shortly after 10.30am.

Congratulations to Dominic Williams, Wesley Young, Chris Dale, Neil Mitchell, Earle Jckson and John Driscolll for completing this incredible physical feat, and a big well done also to their team of supporters, physios and marketing gurus: Paul Brannon, Jonny Hirst, Adam Doherty, Amerjit Taggar, Julie Spiers, Mel Patrick, Kate Marsh, Conor Brennan, Dean Bromley and Dan Gardner.

So if you’re not lucky enough to be going to the game at Wembley today, why not dig deep into your pockets and donate what you would have spent on the day out in London to such a great cause? Let’s try and push their grand total up past £10,000 by the end of the day.

To donate, and for more information about the run, visit hillsborough-anfieldrun.co.uk.

Well done to all involved, go get yourself a lunch and a pint – enjoy the game today.
