Liverpool midfielder Maxi Rodriguez has admitted he may have to leave the club this summer as he seeks more regular football.
Following a stunning end to last season, that saw him score two hat-tricks, the 31 year old found himself out of favour after the summer arrivals of Stewart Downing, Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson – despite the three of them struggling to perform.
Maxi has had just seven Premier League starts this season, and 18 appearances in total.
He’s stil managed to get six goals – the best goals to games ratio of any Liverpool player this season.
The Argentine, who joined from Atletico Madrid in 2010, said;
“I’m not playing the amount of minutes that I want to play.
“When I play, I take my chances and do a good job. I score goals.
“I don’t know if I will stay for next season, that’s the truth. I will decide at the end of the season.
“All the people here have treated me well, but I want more minutes.”
Recent reports have suggested he will be available for transfer this summer.
