LFC launch new 2012/13 kit designed by Warrior

By on May 11, 2012

Liverpool have officially unveiled their new home kit for the 2012/13 season, designed by American manufacturers Warrior Sports.

Warrior, a subsidiary of New Balance, replace adidas who have manufactured the club’s kit since since 2006. The new deal is reported to be worth a staggering £25m per year – more than any other Premier League side.

The new home kit also features a redesigned club badge, which reverts to a a simple liverbird with L.F.C beneath it, a throwback to the seventies.

The Hillsborough memorial flames now feature on the neckline alongside ’96′.

The kit is available for pre-order to be delivered on June 1st.

As we revealed before, in a change of club policy, the home shirt will now change every season rather than every two seasons. Until now LFC and Arsenal were the only Premier League sides not to change the home kit every season. The away and third kits will be revealed later this summer.

I love it! Back to what it should be and not commercial like previous kits! Great to have the liver bird on the jersey never a fan of the shield

  • Trev

don’t like it at all, definitely won’t be buying it..too retro for me..With a v-neck and a tighter fit I reckon it would look a lot better

    • Jag

Trev you are allowed your opinion

I think this kit is the best kit we have had for years back to basics and respects the 96
Shows the liver bird in yellow
Kit reminds me of the good old days
      Bring on the new season

Just what I think myself, I’m glad to see the Liverbird crest back in action, but other than that I’m not too keen on it, however the majority of fans seem to be very happy for it, which is a good sign. I’m just hoping there is a nice polo t-shirt or something for the fussier ones like myself :)

        • Ashley Bradley

looks great. all the way from south africa!!!! send em down

  • Kanos

Great i love it going back to the old badge the shield was always a bit too much on the shirt :)

    • Alastair

The shield with the Shankly gates header and the two Hillsborough memorial flames made our badge look the best and most distinctive in all of the English football leagues. The new “retro” looking badge does not stand out enough on the kit. The new kit design in general looks like one of a second rate team from a lower division made by a manufacturer with no imagination.

  • RedRhys

First i thought it looked tight around the chest from the pictures but watching the videos it looks good fitting. The yellow and red is nice and mentioning the 96 on the back is good. It does remind me of a rugby top though. The hoody the bellamy was wearing looked awesome.

  • Lavi

Well, i fancy it. The colour of both the shirt and the crest is great. Not much for the collar though. To… Golfing, rugby, whatever – but the rest ! Better than anything adidas came up with!

  • mrbren

Great shirt… Best one in years. Warrior got it spot on by reverting to a simple liver bird for the crest. Also love the flames and 96 on the back of the neck.

  • ssrh

I usually never buy LFC shirts this early in season, but it looks exciting.

  • near

    Love it, will buy one!

  • CraigLondon

Looks like a naff American polo shirt to me,fucking awful.I’m not wearing that!

    • Eric.C.G

who said you had to wear it?

    • Pauly

Support a London club then nob

    • pool of life

glad to hear your not wearing ‘that’ . it has been said , but , GO FORTH and give your half hearted support to a n other plastic outfit in the london !

  • Kaushik

Lovely! But where can I buy it in India?

    • VIN

Guess, we have to buy it online as Warrior doesn’t have any shops in India unlike Adidas.

  • Alex Fowler

Just hope that Warrior sent the shirt to Brazil ….

  • miocene

Really like it. I might actually get it to add to my 2006-08 season shirt.

  • vin

I presume that a lot of work has been done to come up with the final product which is very unique and original. The previous glossy material has been replaced by less shiny one to direct the viewers attention to the logos. A great piece of work. Hat’s off Warrior.

  • Good2Go

I like the shirt but would prefer a new collar and I would also like IV on a sleeve to represent the number of Champions Leagues we have won and 18 on the other to represent the number of leagues.
