LFC Under 21’s continue to impress

Liverpool’s Under 21’s continued their impressive form this season with a superb victory over Wolves on Monday night.

Rodolfo Borrell’s side were 1-0 down at half-time but produced a stunning second half performance to hammer their Midlands counterparts 5-1 at Molineux.

Borrell’s side are the only unbeaten U21 side in the country, with 8 wins and 2 draws in 10 games.

Spaniard Dani Pacheco took the headlines as he scored two, top scorer Krisztian Adorjan claimed his 6th of the season, Portugese midfielder Joao Carlos Teixeira scored his first goal since his £1m move from Sporting Lisbon last season, and forward Michael Ngoo added the fifth.

It was the performance of Pacheco in particular who impressed; two great finishes, one assist, and some great movement up front.

Not included in the match were left-back Jack Robinson, forward Adam Morgan and midfielder Connor Coady – presumably the trio will travel with the first-team to Moscow for the Europa match.

The Under 21’s form is even more impressive given the fact they are performing without Sterling (17), Suso and Wisdom (both 18) since their inclusion in the first-team.

LFC U21: Ward, McLaughlin, Smith, Sama, Wilson, Roddan (Nacho 78), Ngoo, Pelosi, Yesil (Teixeira 45), Adorjan (Ibe 75), Pacheco.
