LFC Transfer Rumour Roundup- Two world-class forwards linked with the Reds

Several new transfer rumours regarding Liverpool have emerged over the last 24 hours, and Henry Jackson assesses the likelihood and consequences of them occurring.

EZEQUIEL LAVEZZI

The Express report that, with Angel di Maria set to join Paris Saint-Germain in a big-money move, the French giants may be forced to sell Lavezzi to avoid breaking Financial Fair Play sanctions.

The 29-year-old forward is an extremely talented player, and one with electrifying pace and an eye for goal. He has scored 23 goals in 90 games for PSG, and also enjoyed great spell at Napoli previously, but the purchase of Di Maria could see him relegated to the substitutes bench next season.

Brendan Rodgers is looking for a replacement for Loic Remy, and not only is Lavezzi a far superior player, his versatility across a front three would appeal greatly to Rodgers.

£18m for a player approaching 30 is a potential risk, but the Argentina international would bring a great amount of quality to Liverpool’s side.

MARCO REUS

According to the Express, German publication Bild claim Reus has rejected the offer of a new deal at Borussia Dortmund.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United reportedly see the 25-year-old as their marquee signing of the summer, and a move to Anfield would be a massive statement of intent by the Reds.

Reus is one of the world’s best attacking players, and prior to missing the World Cup through injury he was seen by many as the world champions’ star man.

He has scored 42 goals for Jurgen Klopp‘s side over the last two seasons, often wreaking havoc from a left-sided attacking role.

The idea of the goalscoring winger moving to Anfield is a mouth-watering one, but whether it materialises is questionable, with heavyweight clubs like Bayern Munich and Barcelona also rumoured to be interested.

DANIEL AGGER

According to the Daily Mail, Agger is on the verge of joining Barcelona for £12m.

The 29-year-old has fallen out of favour at Anfield under Brendan Rodgers, and the signing of Dejan Lovren has seemingly put him even further down the pecking order.

The Denmark captain has enjoyed over eight successful years at Liverpool, but it would appear that his time at the club is coming to an end.

In total Agger has made 232 appearance for the Reds, finding the net 14 times.

Do you think Liverpool would miss Agger? Who would you prefer out of Lavezzi and Reus? Let us know in the comments section.
