Brendan Rodgers names an experimental side full of youth for Liverpool’s first pre-season friendly of the summer at Brondby on Wednesday afternoon.

The Reds begin a busy summer of warm-up matches, with a visit to Preston North End on Saturday, a tour of the USA and an exciting clash against Borussia Dortmund at Anfield before the Premier League gets underway on Sunday, August 17th.

With Liverpool’s World Cup stars not back in training yet, bar Rickie Lambert, Rodgers has taken a makeshift squad to Denmark for Wednesday’s game.

It also doesn’t include summer signings Emre Can and Lazar Markovic, whilst Jose Enrique and Jack Robinson did not travel either.

Expect plenty of substitutions and most likely a different line-up for each half as the Reds look to get their pre-season off to a winning start against Daniel Agger’s old club.

Liverpool: B. Jones, Kelly, Agger, Ilori, Smith, Lucas, Rossiter, Coutinho, Suso, Borini, Teixeira.

Substitutes: Ward, Allen, Ibe, Coady, Skrtel, Flanagan, Phillips, Wisdom, L. Jones, Peterson, Stewart.

Brondby v Liverpool gets underway at 5pm (UK) and is live on BT Sport 1 and LFC TV Online. Keep up to date by following @thisisanfield.
