With just one week left until the new Premier League season gets underway, Brendan Rodgers will be using this game as a useful fitness exercise for his players, whilst cheaper ticket prices for children make this a family day at Anfield.

Liverpool’s campaign kicks off with the visit of Southampton next Sunday, 17th August at 1.30pm.

Prior to the game, the club confirmed that new loan signing Javier Manquillo will wear the No. 19 shirt for the Reds

Rodgers names a strong line-up, with Manquillo starting alongside Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel and £20 million summer purchase from Southampton Dejan Lovren.

Emre Can gets the nod in the middle of the park ahead of Steven Gerrard and behind Jordan Henderson, with Raheem Sterling and Philippe Coutinho supporting Daniel Sturridge up front.

Rickie Lambert could also make his first appearances for the Reds at Anfield — the 32-year-old is named amongst the substitutes.
