Liverpool attacker Raheem Sterling has reportedly agreed a new five-year deal at the club, which will see him earn a whopping £125,000 a week.

The claims are made in Sunday’s Independent newspaper following recent speculation over the 19-year-old’s contract.

Sterling, who has enjoyed a meteoric rise in the last 12 months with both club and country, has two and a half years left on his current deal. He currently earns £30,000 a week (via numerous reports over the last month) but The Independent claim that figure is £43,000 per week – perhaps mixing up the substantial bonuses which Sterling has included in his current deal.

£125,000 per week seems like a hefty pay rise and amount to be paying such a young player. Whether this report has much credibility is yet to be seen.
