Brendan Rodgers denies Adam Bogdan link and insists “we will go with what we have”

In a classic case of two plus two equalling five, several tabloid newspapers claimed Liverpool were monitoring the situation over Bolton goalkeeper Adam Bogdan – who won man of the match in their cup tie at Anfield on Saturday.

Despite being Bolton’s second-choice goalkeeper, Matt Barlow of the MailOnline somehow thinks that Liverpool would be interested in Bogdan, claiming “Liverpool are one of the clubs monitoring Bogdan’s situation aware that he is out of contract at the end of the season and resisting Bolton’s efforts to re-sign.”

Alas, asked about such interest at his press conference on Monday morning ahead of the trip to Chelsea, Brendan Rodgers said there was “nothing at all” in the reports.

Indeed, Rodgers said the final week of the window will be very quiet at Anfield. Asked if anyone might be arriving he said: “I don’t think so. Unless something dramatic happens we will go with what we have.”
