Ward, a former Wales youth international, has been on the Liverpool bench 19 times this season and has now joined Shrimps to ease their goalkeeping crisis following Andreas Arestidou’s suspension.

He is expected to be given his debut in Saturday’s trip to Carlisle, with Morecambe looking to get a win after back-to-back home defeats to Hartlepool and Shrewsbury.

Shrimps’ boss Jim Bentley said: “Danny is a highly regarded young goalkeeper and we look forward to working with him over the next few weeks.”

Ward, 21, joined Liverpool from Wrexham in 2012 but has yet to feature for the first team at Anfield.
