Liverpool Under-21s will kick of their 2015/16 season at home to Chelsea, as they look to build towards success in the Premier League after a close-run campaign last season.

Announced on Wednesday, the young Reds’ fixture schedule for the new term throws up some interesting clashes.

Cameron Brannagan, Sheyi Ojo, Joe Gomez, Jerome Sinclair, Harry Wilson and Lloyd Jones will be among the Liverpool academy stars readying themselves for another busy season.

Kicking off with Chelsea, the Reds will take on Manchester City, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Norwich City among others in a 21-game campaign.

Their second game of the season is a trip to Southport to take on Merseyside rivals Everton.

The return fixture is scheduled to take place at Anfield in December.

Three players who are unlikely to feature this season are Ryan Kent, Kevin Stewart and Jordan Williams, with the trio set to move to League One side Swindon Town on loan this summer.

Manager Michael Beale will now be planning for another season of tough competition and strong development.
