The former Liverpool attacker was serenaded by the Kop with the lyrics “Luuuis Garcia, He drinks sangria…” and now working as a club ambassador on the Reds’ pre-season tour of Thailand, Australia and Malaysia, he’s lived up to that stereotype.

Now aged 37, Garcia was brought to Liverpool from Barcelona in 2004 by Rafa Benitez, where he made 121 appearances in all competitions before departing in 2007.

He scored a total of 30 goals for the Reds, including his famous winner in the 2005 European Cup semi-final, second leg against Chelsea to send Liverpool to Istanbul.

Garcia will be speaking to Liverpool supporters in London on Friday, September 11th in a special night organised by 5 Times. For the chance to win meet & greet tickets to the event, click here or secure your place by buying tickets here.
