Philippe Coutinho will make his first appearance of the summer for Liverpool on Saturday afternoon when the Reds take on HJK Helsinki in Finland, and Brazilian youngster Allan is named on the bench.
Coutinho missed the Reds’ tour of Asia and Australia, returning to Merseyside late after international duties at the Copa America.
He had a run out in a Liverpool U21s friendly match against Porto last weekend, but the 23-year-old starts in Helsinki as Brendan Rodgers looks to improve the fitness of his players ahead of the Premier League getting underway next weekend.
It’s Liverpool’s penultimate friendly of the summer, with a trip to League One Swindon Town ahead on Sunday at 4pm (UK).
Liverpool also confirmed that they have “secured Allan for the future and he’s currently spending time with the Reds with the permission of his club, Internacional.”
