Video: Brendan Rodgers – Liverpool defeat was self inflicted

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers bemoaned sloppy goals for his team’s first defeat of the season after three successive clean sheets.

The Hammers ended a 52-year wait for a league win at Liverpool with a stylish 3-0 success after goals from Manuel Lanzini, Mark Noble and Diafra Sakho.

The Reds also saw Philippe Coutinho dismissed with the score at 2-0. The Brazilian playmaker will be suspended for the next match – away to Man United after the international break.

“We were disappointing today,” said Rodgers.

“We know today a lot of if was self inflicted. We gave poor goals away, and that was the biggest disappointment.”

“We’ll get ready now for the next game.”
