Most of the Reds key players are off representing their respective countries over the next fortnight, but there are still some with no international commitments.

They will head to Tenerife on Monday for a week, as Jurgen Klopp tries to overcome the disappointment of his side’s capitulation against Southampton on Sunday, in which they surrendered a two-goal to lose 3-2.

Klopp is reportedly keen on getting away from Melwood for a decent amount of time, and into warmer weather conditions of roughly 21 degrees.

The likes of Jon Flanagan, Kolo Toure, Steven Caulker, Jordan Rossiter and Kevin Stewart, and a number of academy players, will be part of the group, which should also act as a good bonding session between the squad.

The Liverpool players not taking part because of international duty include the English quintet of Nathaniel Clyne, Jordan Henderson, James Milner, Adam Lallana and Daniel Sturridge, and Mamadou Sakho (France), Emre Can (Germany) and Philippe Coutinho (Brazil).

Alberto Moreno, Lucas Leiva and Roberto Firmino are all current Reds injury victims, and will remain in England to receive treatment.

Getting away from the negativity of Sunday’s result seems like a shrewd move from Klopp, and it can’t do any harm to have a change of scenes for a few days.

The hope is that the training camp keeps the Liverpool squad fit and firing ahead of their next Premier League game at home to Tottenham on 2nd April.
