“What a team we have” – Liverpool players on to 2-1 win over Tottenham

Tuesday night’s 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the League Cup round of 16 proved particularly pleasing for Liverpool.

A brace from Daniel Sturridge was enough to secure progress to the quarter-finals on a night when Jurgen Klopp made 11 changes to his starting lineup.

The likes of Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ovie Ejaria, Marko Grujic and Kevin Stewart were all included, with the former making his first appearance for the Reds in a comfortable senior debut.

The only disappointment, with no Liverpool player letting his side down throughout, was the concession of a penalty midway through the second half, which Spurs striker Vincent Janssen dispatched for only his second goal of the season.

Nevertheless, as they await Wednesday night’s quarter-final draw, Klopp’s side can be encouraged by the result.

Here’s how they reacted on social media, including praise from those who didn’t feature.
