Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic

Liverpool looking for January deal for Dortmund winger Christian Pulisic – Report

Liverpool are “ready to step up their pursuit” of highly-rated Dortmund forward Christian Pulisic, according to reports on Monday night.

The Reds have been linked with a move for the prodigious 18-year-old in the past, and the Daily Mail claims they will again attempt to land their man in January.

With Philippe Coutinho ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle injury, and Sadio Mane on African Cup of Nations duty in January, attacking reinforcements could be called for in the next transfer window.

Pulisic is widely regarded as one of the most exciting young prospects in Europe, and his stock only continues to go up.

The USA international has been at Dortmund since February 2015, and his meteoric rise has seen him make 14 appearances already this season.

Many hail him as one of the most talented players ever to come out of America, and he already has three goals for his country in 11 matches.

Capable of playing either out wide or in a more central attacking role, Pulisic would be perfect for Jurgen Klopp‘s style of play.

The Liverpool manager always looks for versatility in his players, outlined by the interchanging brilliance of Mane, Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino this season.

Should the Reds get a deal done for Pulisic, it would be a huge statement of intent.

He is already at one of Europe’s most prestigious clubs, so for him to opt for Liverpool instead would be proof of the pulling power they now have under Klopp.

A new addition would definitely aid the Reds’ 2016/17 title bid, with a lack of January business proving costly in past seasons.
