News of Philippe Coutinho‘s new Liverpool contract has served as a major boost to supporters following a poor start to 2017 from the Reds.
Coutinho has extended his stay on Merseyside by signing a new five-year deal that will come into effect on July 1 and keep him with the club until the end of the 2021/22 campaign.
This will make him Liverpool’s highest-earning player, believed to be around £150,000 a week, and crucially, doesn’t include a release clause.
One of the Reds’ most important players, if not the most important, Coutinho’s commitment to the club is a real statement from all parties, and one that will lift supporters during a tough period.
A fan favourite, the No. 10 is set to dazzle the Kop for years to come, and his continued presence at Anfield provides Klopp with the best chance of steering the Reds towards success.
