Liverpool can look forward to more sensational strikes from Philippe Coutinho, after the Brazilian signed a new five-year contract with the club.

Coutinho’s new deal makes him the Reds’ highest earner at around £150,000 a week, rewarding the No. 10 for his excellent performances over the past four years.

Rising to the fore as one of Liverpool’s most important players since his £8.5 million move from Inter Milan in 2013, Coutinho is now one of world football’s finest attacking talents.

So far, he has struck 26 times in 122 games in the Premier League, with many of these coming from his trademark patch outside the box.

To celebrate Coutinho’s new contract, Liverpool released a video package of his finest efforts in the English top flight, serving as a reminder of the Brazilian’s quality.

These range from shortly after his arrival, with the winner in their 1-0 victory at home to Queens Parks Rangers in May 2013, to more recently, such as in September’s 5-1 win over Hull City.

Also included are goals against Southampton, Everton and, in this season, Chelsea, as well as his dramatic curler from just inside the area in 2014’s 3-2 triumph over title rivals Manchester City.

Taking No. 1 spot, however, is his incredible free-kick on the opening day of the current campaign, beating Petr Cech from 30 yards to put Liverpool on their way to a 4-3 away win.

Coutinho has improved his finishing significantly in recent seasons, and is now one of the Reds’ biggest goal threats.

Having committed his long-term future to the cause on Merseyside, supporters can hope for many more where that came from, from the Little Magician.
