Champions League
Weds 24 Oct. at BJK İnönü Stadium

Liverpool look to get their Champions League campaign back on track with a trip to Istanbul on Wednesday night. They face Turkish side Besiktas at the BJK İnönü Stadium, kick off 7:45pm.

The Reds go into the game desperately needing a first win after their loss to Marseille and draw in Porto so far.

Fernando Torres won’t return as he is still suffering with a thigh injury he picked up on international duty, but fellow Spaniard Xabi Alonso is back to fitness and set to return to the starting eleven.

Defender Daniel Agger is also out still so Sami Hyypia will continue alongside Jamie Carragher in defence.

The Reds are also without Alvaro Arbeloa, Fabio Aurelio and Harry Kewell.

Jermaine Pennant is set to return to the right wing and Ryan Babel could provide the width down the left.

besiktasBesiktas have lost their opening two fixtures in the group – 2-0 at Marseille and 1-0 by Porto.

The Turks’ coach ErtuÄŸrul SaÄŸlam will serve a one match touchline ban after being dismissed in their defeat to Porto in the last round of games.

Liverpool squad:

Reina, Finnan, Carragher, Hyypia, Riise, Benayoun, Gerrard, Mascherano, Sissoko, Alonso, Pennant, Crouch, Voronin, Kuyt, Babel, Lucas, Hobbs, Itandje.

The match is live on Sky Sports.
