Liverpool travel to Ewood Park to face Mark Hughes’ in-form Blackburn Rovers on Saturday evening.
Both sides enjoyed success in the Carling Cup and are through to the quarter finals of the competition. And Rovers sit one place above Liverpool in the League table going into the match.
Liverpool will be without Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso and Daniel Agger. Alvaro Arbeloa, Fabio Aurelio and Harry Kewell all made returns from injury in the 2-1 win over Cardiff on Wednesday. And Javier Mascherano also shrugged off a knock he picked up against Arsenal to make an appearance as substitute.
