Dirk Kuyt has been voted Man of the Match in Tuesday’s dramatic Champions League victory over Arsenal at Anfield by visitors to This Is Anfield.

In our latest site poll, we asked you who was your Man of the Match in the 4-2 thriller which saw the Reds go through to yet another European Cup semi-final tie against Chelsea.

Kuyt impressed with his 110% workrate and fine link-up play with the midfield. In the dying seconds, it was Kuyt’s clearance from defence that set Ryan Babel away to outpace Cesc Fabregas and score Liverpool’s fourth, putting the tie beyond the Gunners.

With over 1439 votes in 24 hours, Kuyt won the accolade with 29% of the votes, just 1% (16 votes) more than Sami Hyypia who commanded Liverpool’s central defence yet again.

14% of you thought Fernando Torres was Man of the Match, 10% Javier Mascherano 8% Steven Gerrard, despite Gerrard naming it one of his worst performances in a Liverpool shirt. 10% of you thought it was none of these players.

In our new poll on the site, we ask you Can Rafa afford to rest key players domestically with the Champions League in mind? Cast your vote in the polling booth in the right hand sidebar on this page.
