Former Liverpool striker Peter Crouch has criticised Martin Skrtel for the defender’s behaviour during Slovakia’s 4-0 defeat to England at Wembley Stadium on Saturday.
Skrtel had a bad game for his country and appeared to kick out at Crouch towards the end of the defeat, forcing the Portsmouth top-scorer to limp out of the game.
Crouch, who could now be a doubt for England’s Word Cup Qualifier against Ukraine on Wednesday night, said:
“I went up with Skrtel. I thought he was my mate to be honest, but obviously not. I went up with him and he kicked out and gave me a dead leg. It was a little bit out of order.”
England also lost Emile Heskey and Carlton Cole to injury in the same game on Saturday.
