Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez says he is disappointed in the way his side went down 3-1 at home to Chelsea in the Champions League last night, admitting it will be hard to claw the deficit back at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea came back from a goal down to claim a shock victory in the first leg of the quarter-final tie, and Benitez says it’s down to some ‘œbad mistakes’.
The Spaniard told press after the game, “I was disappointed with the manner of our defeat, and the bad mistakes we made at set pieces to allow them two goals.
“Now it will be very difficult. We have to score three times at Stamford Bridge, which is a tough call against a very good side. Our first priority, though, is against Blackburn in the league, then we will see what we have to do at Chelsea.”
The return leg is at Stamford Bridge next Tuesday, 14th April. Kick-off is 7.45pm.
