Liverpool’s league opponents tomorrow are facing a bit of a striker crisis, just 24 hours before the 12.45pm kick-off at Anfield tomorrow.
Rafa Benitez‘s men know that victory is a must tomorrow in order to maintain their assault on the Premier League title. Victory would put the Reds top of the table by two points for at least a few hours with Manchester Utd away at Sunderland at 3pm.
And Sam Allardyce’s men appear to have a few injury problems, which must bode well for the Reds.
Influential striker Roque Santa Cruz is almost certainly ruled out with a bad knee injury, whilst Jason Roberts’ foot injury has already ruled him out of the lunchtime kick-off.
Benni McCarthy will start up front for the Lancashire side, but Allardyce may be forced to test the versatility of some of his other players to help out McCarthy.
Morten Gamst Pedersen is also rated as doubtful.
Liverpool vs Blackburn Rovers gets underway at 12.45pm on Saturday, April 11th. The match is live on Sky Sports.
