Mascherano urged to join Barca

Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has been urged by international temmate Lionel Messi to join Barcelona this summer, amid more speculation linking him with a big money move to the Nou Camp this summer.

Messi says he would love to play with Mascherano at the Catalan club, with recent reports suggesting Mascherano and his wife are unhappy on Merseyside.

Messi told El Mundo Deportivo, “Of course I would like him to join. Who would not want to play with great players like Javier? I hope he can come here.”
